Here’s everything I used to create my boots! The products used are linked in the photos below!!
Boots of your choosing
Fine Glitter
Mod Podge
Paint brushes (One large, one small)
Angelus Leather Paint
Big disclaimer!!!! Keep in mind that when you put mod podge and glitter on the boots, it will make the boots MUCH tighter on your calf!!!! I had a little breathing room/gap while wearing the boots before I started this project- and afterward had a little trouble zipping them up! So please be wary of that when choosing what boots you use for this. I personally used the boots that I linked above and went up a size for safety.
First I started off by painting the base coat of my boots blue. This helps the color of the glitter show through! Using a small paint brush I painted the bottom of the boot’s soles red. I think it took around three layers before the color of the soles were to my liking.
Next up I whipped up a batch of glitter in my mixing bowl. I mixed in about half of the blue and purple glitter containers, and then added 1/4 of the black glitter container.
Then I put the boots on a baking sheet with a piece of folded paper underneath in an attempt to keep the glitter from going everywhere. Using a big brush, I spread mod podge on the outside of the boots in sections. Next, I would take a spoonful of glitter and sprinkle it on the wet mod podge. Once I was out of glitter from the bowl, I would refill it by gathering the paper and pouring it back into the bowl. Once you’ve covered the entire surface of the boots to your liking, let them fully dry for 24 hours. After they’re dried, you can put another layer of mod podge on top of your creation to seal it in. (Personally I didn’t seal my own boots because I didn’t like how much shine it took away… but if you go down this path be prepared to shed glitter EVERYWHERE you walk hahaha).
Here’s my pictures before/after the concert. My feet felt fine for majority of the three hour concert… but I did a LOT more walking that I wasn’t anticipating after the concert, which is when the boots had to come off :)
